In 1995, Ma founded China Pages, widely believed to be China’s first Internet-based company. From 1998 to 1999, Ma headed an information technology company which was established by the China International Electronic Commerce Center, a department of Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. He founded Alibaba.com in 1999, a China-based site for the business-to-business marketplace, which serves more than 65 million members from more than 240 countries and territories. Ma served as chairman and CEO of Alibaba Group, which is still a holding company with four major subsidiaries—Alibaba.com, Taobao, Alibaba Cloud Computing and China Yahoo!

From then on, Ma made himself successful not only in business but also in many other fields. In 2001, Ma was chosen as a “Young Global Leader”by the World Economic Forum. Four years later, Fortune honored Maas one of the “25 Most Powerful Business people in Asia”. He was rewarded by Business week as a “Business person of the Year” and one of the 30 “World’s Best CEOs”by Barron’sin 2007 and 2008.In 2011,Ma with his colleagues announced thatYahoo’s stake Chinese law governing payment companies had been controlledby one of his companies. All above is just past of Ma’s achievements. Ma has got so much success that people cannot describe all. But he is so wise a tutor. He toldpeople that great fortunes of the world were made by people who saw opportunities that others didn’t, and this was why he could gain success.

Without doubt, Ma is a great success in business. However, to people’s surprise, on September 10th, 2019, the 34th Teachers’ Day in China, Ma announced to retire from Alibaba Group. He planned to be a teacher again. That day is also this billionaire’s 54th birthday.
