福建警院坚持面向实战、突出实战，优化学科布局，提升学科实力，形成以公安学、公安技术、监狱学为主体，法学、工学、管理学等相关学科为支撑的学科专业体系。其中，公安学和公安技术为省级重点学科，行政管理和作战指挥学为福建省新建本科高校重点学科。刑事科学技术为国家级特色专业建设点、公安部重点专业建设点，侦查学、治安学为省级特色专业建设点，经济犯罪侦查、监狱学为福建省高等学校服务产业特色专业建设点。

The College has established a discipline and specialty system with a focus on Science of Public Security, Public Security Technology and Penology, supported with relevant specialties like Law, Engineering and Management by gearing to the needs of actual combat and highlighting practice. Therein, Science of Public Security and Public Security Technology are provincial key disciplines, while Administrative Management and Combat Command are key disciplines of Fujian newly built undergraduate institutions. Criminal Science & Technology is a national-level undergraduate featured specialty development program, and the key specialty development program of China Ministry of Public Security; Science of Criminal Investigation and Science of Public Order are provincial-level featured specialty development programs; Economic Crime Investigation and Science of Penology are featured specialty development programs for service industry of Fujian higher education institutions.

FJPC focuses on actual combat and is committed to reform and innovation. The teaching reform has yielded fruitful results: FJPC has been awarded one national-level first prize and one provincial and ministerial-level special prize.
